From his early days running Dine Art to building Mad Metals into Humboldt County's go-to custom fabrication studio, Byran has spent over two decades turning raw metal into art.
Every piece that leaves the shop is designed, cut, welded, and finished by hand — often from recycled and repurposed materials. From business signs to large-scale sculptures to community installations, every project gets the same care and craftsmanship.
His work is displayed at Redwood Capital Bank, the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce, the Humboldt County Fairgrounds, the Fortuna Senior Center, the Rohnert Park Peace Garden, and the Fortuna welcome sign. Featured in the Times-Standard, Mad River Union, and more.

Byran created a prehistoric Dunkleosteus shark sculpture for Redwood Capital Bank's Arcata branch — joining two other mascot sculptures at the bank. Ribbon cutting ceremony held April 29, 2025.
